The analysis shows how much and which types of fatty acids you have “long-term in your body” – measured as their proportion in the blood (usually expressed as %). It is a practical nutritional biomarker that scientific literature associates with cardiovascular risk and overall health.
We examine a broad spectrum of saturated, omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids (around 60 types). From these, we calculate the omega-3 and omega-6 indices, the ratios of key fatty acids in the blood (AA and DHA), and interpret the results according to the latest scientific findings.
Who is this test suitable for?
The test is suitable if you want to know whether your omega-3 levels are rather low or within a good range — for example, if you:
- eat little fatty sea fish / are unsure about your omega-3 intake,
- are focusing on heart and vascular prevention (blood pressure, cholesterol, family history, etc.),
- take omega-3 supplements and want to verify whether this has affected your levels.
How it works (at-home self-collection)
You order a test kit, perform a simple finger-prick collection at home (a few drops of blood on a special card), let it dry, and send it to the laboratory. You will then receive a clear report including your omega-3 index and other parameters, usually within 10 days from the time the sample is received by the laboratory.
What the result tells you
Professional sources often state that a desirable value is above 8%, while below 4% is described as an unfavorable range; values in between are generally considered “intermediate.”
The result can help you decide whether it makes sense to adjust your diet or supplementation and when to repeat the test.
